Back to School is Better With Great Calendar Resources for the Rest of the School Year

Every year after the holiday break I would find myself baffled at how quickly time started moving twice as fast as before the holiday break! One resource I have always loved referring to that helped keep me organized and on track in the school library is Shannon Miller's Library, Learning and Literacy Celebrations Throughout The Year!  calendar/Google Sheet.

This resource created with her daughter, Brianna, has been a well-utilized resource ever since its first iteration appeared in 2016. In Library, Learning and Literacy Celebrations Throughout The Year!  Shannon has combined calendars from EPIC!, PebbleGo, DEMCO, and other special calendar collections in one place. She also compiles relevant Twitter Chats, bulletin board and display ideas, new book releases, and more.

This month one of my favorite dates is Kid Inventors' Day on January 17th. This day fits perfectly in our library makerspace areas and is a great way to get kids' minds going in the new year!

Library, Learning and Literacy Celebrations Throughout The Year! is a collaborative document so if you know of great resources that should be added be sure to contact Shannon Miller on Twitter or through her blog, The Library Voice.
